If you have found this blog, chances are you are looking for information to start an online MLM business idea. Either you are fed up at work, unhappy with your current employment situation, overextended and underpaid; you are looking for a way to become financially free. But look before you leap, and make sure you are choosing the right career for your personality. Here are three tips to keep in mind:

Assess Your Strengths

Let’s start by looking at your strengths. What are the personality characteristics you can bring to a work at home business idea? These are the things about you that will help you forge ahead as you start a new career. Some recommended characteristics of entrepreneurs include:

•    Strong planning skills;
•    The ability to manage money wisely;
•    A natural self-promoter;
•    Ability to project a positive image;
•    Strong negotiation skills;
•    Self-starter, not needing direction;
•    Highly organized personality.

Assess Your Weaknesses

Now that we know the good, let’s take a look at your weaknesses. What kind of personality issues could pose a problem for a network marketing system? Here are a few things to watch out for:

•    Laziness;
•    Procrastination;
•    Disorganization;
•    Inability to be a leader or build a team;
•    Poor money-handling skills;
•    Inability to get along with different personality types;
•    Workaholic tendencies (working hard is great, but you better be able to put up boundaries when you have a network marketing business opportunity).

List Your Skills

Now that you know your own personal strengths and weaknesses, let’s think about your practical skills. What have you learned through former jobs and life lessons that you can bring to a home based career? Following are some of the top skills to have:

•    Bookkeeping or accounting skills;
•    Marketing training;
•    Computer skills, such as basic computer equipment and software programs;
•    Ability to write concisely and in a professional manner;
•    Multitasking;
•    Graphic design or website design skills, if you want to set up your own website.

Now that you know your own personal strengths, weaknesses, and skills, you can find a home business network marketing company that fits like a glove. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in joining my team!

I have always worked, as long as I can remember, but my network marketing internet business is the only job I’ve had that has offered lasting financial security. I have been involved as an entrepreneur in sales and real estate, but I wish I had gotten started in this business sooner. In fact, here are the top three things I wish someone had told me about this career:

1.    Be Prepared to Work Hard

If you’ve gotten used to slacking off at your current job, you’ll have to shape up your act once you become an entrepreneur. Owning your own online MLM business is actually more work than you will ever do in a regular 9 to 5 job. You can no longer depend on your coworkers or your supervisors to cover for you or delegate your work when you don’t feel like tackling it.

While all of this may sound really negative, the truth is that this can be a liberating experience. You can look upon this as your chance to really live up to your own expectations, or even surpass them.

2.    All of Your Efforts Go to Your Bottom Line

Another benefit to putting forth 100% effort is that you get to reap the benefits of all your hard work. You no longer have to sit by and watch your efforts squandered by those same inept bosses and slacker coworkers that used to help you pass the buck. And your had work doesn’t enrich some nameless, faceless corporate entity either.

If you work hard, you can expect to get a huge payoff, one that makes your home business opportunity online a very profitable experience.

3.    You Can Achieve Financial Freedom

After years of owning a succession of businesses, I can tell you that being financially free is the only way to go. Now that I have my own online internet business, I have the freedom to do whatever I want. My fiance and I love to travel, and the flexibility of my schedule makes that possible. We also have a beautiful daughter, Kalista, and I love to buy her whatever she wants or needs.

It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to do what I love and make money at it, so I can provide for my loved ones. I want you to share in that awesome feeling too!

Facebook is everywhere, and it’s a great tool for generating that elusive MLM business lead. But how can you manipulate the power of this social media site and use it to your network marketing internet business’ advantage? I highly recommend you check out  Social Media Science, and if you still use MySpace, check out Friend Blaster Pro for more information. Here’s my take on Facebook:

What Is Facebook?

Facebook is a social networking site that has now surpassed MySpace as the most popular way to network online. This site is free and allows you to set up a personal profile page as well as a business profile page. Your friends and fans can link together with your pages, increasing your visibility to other potential clients. In addition, you can post a single update on your page and reach all of your fans instantly.

Pros of Facebook

The pros of Facebook are obvious:

•    First, it’s one of the most popular ways to network online today. With thousands of users, it’s a cinch to do network marketing recruiting quickly and easily.
•    Secondly, it’s free, which stretches your advertising budget further.
•    Thirdly, it allows you to interact with your clients on a casual and personal level, developing bonds of trust and loyalty.

Cons of Facebook

There are a few cons to Facebook:

•    There’s not a lot of room for personalization, so you have to use their standard templates when setting up your pages;
•    As with any campaign, your Facebook page must have a focus and a purpose, otherwise you will have thousands of fans and no clue how to reach them or interact with them in a meaningful way;
•    If you put too many updates on your page, you run the risk of annoying your fans, which could lead them to “hide” your updates in their News Feeds. This is essentially the same as putting a spam blocker over your email.
