Now that you’ve embarked on your first year in network marketing, you may wonder why you would even want to join a team. Why not try your new home based business as a solo venture?

Well, there are actually several good reasons to join a group when you start a network marketing program. For me, the most compelling reasons come down to having the support you need: you need a professional support network, and you need a mentor.

Why You Should Have a Professional Support Network

As a newcomer to the industry, it really pays off to have the support of your team. This is your professional support system, and you can come to your teammates when you need help understanding any network marketing information that may have you confused. You can get feedback on your progress and ask for assistance if you feel you just aren’t excelling at what you do.

Most importantly, once you begin working from home, it’s easy to feel isolated. Without that traditional atmosphere and the occasional “water cooler chat,” you may feel as though you are alone out there. Your teammates help fill in that gap and will help out with a reality check whenever you need one.

Why You Need the Help of a Mentor

Besides having instant access to your networking teammates, when you join my team you get my one-on-one assistance as a mentor. I have been in the industry for a long time, and I know what works and what doesn’t. Don’t be like most entrepreneurs, who choose to strike out on their own and then fail within the first year of operation.

I can help you avoid the many obstacles you may face as you start out, and I can help you implement a network marketing system that puts you on the cutting edge of the industry. Most people take years to accumulate this knowledge through the school of hard knocks. But I am only too happy to share it with you instantly when you join my team.

Need some fresh ways to do efficient network marketing recruiting? I am a huge fan of using the internet to push your business to the next level. So I am going to level with you, some of the best insider tips on growing your company are directly related to the internet boom.

Try an MLM Blog

An MLM blog is a great way to establish personal bonds with potential recruits. The format of a blog is casual and friendly; you can tell your audience whatever is on your mind in your own voice. In addition, blogs can be updated as often as you have more news to share. Most bloggers update once daily or a few times a week; your updates will depend on your own personal schedule.

Blogs are also a good way to maximize your advertising budget, as there are several sites available that offer free blog hosting, or you can add blogging capabilities to your own website.

Blogs are most effective at network marketing lead generation when you write to specific keywords; that is, certain phrases that can capture your audience’s attention. If you need suggestions for finding these keywords, then I highly recommend SEO Networker or the Definitive Guide to Google Adwords. If you have trouble getting started with your blog, try the tips offered at the Copy Writers’ Guild.

Make the Most of Social Media

Social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace are fast becoming the vanguard of network marketing prospecting. These sites offer similar advantages to blogging: ease of use, convenience, and the ability to attract recruits through casual and friendly bonds.

Social media differ from blogs in that you don’t have to write much to get started; simply add your user account and then post a few updates to keep your audience hungry for more. In fact, Twitter limits you to 140 characters when updating, so you’ll have to be brief.

For more information on social media, I would suggest checking out the Social Media Science page. For extra help with Twitter, I would strongly advise you check out Tweet Adder.

When it comes to network marketing, information is king. That is, using information about your company and your industry to attract recruits is one of the surest ways you can build your business. There are two major reasons why you should consider marketing in this manner:

You Can Become the Expert

The key to network marketing is to broadcast information to your potential recruits. This is important for two reasons. First, it helps build upon the principles of attraction marketing, meaning you promote your business in order to attract recruits.

One of the best ways to promote your business is to offer information about your company or your industry to potential recruits. By doing so, you can build yourself up as an expert within your field, the go-to guy who has all the answers to all questions out there.

Secondly, by broadcasting information through network marketing articles, an MLM blog, or other sources, you are putting all of your advertising dollars back to work for your company. By building up your company’s web presence, rather than scattering your money on potentially unsuccessful recruitment efforts. Always aim to attract potential clients, don’t try to hunt them down.

Your Recruits Are Informed and Savvy

When you spend your home based business marketing efforts on informing and educating the public, some amazing things happen. Not only to you build yourself up as the leader in your field, you also begin to attract informed and savvy recruits.

Old school recruitment methods rely on bonds of familiarity to close a deal. “Ask your friends!” “Get your family involved!” But if you use these methods you may or may not attract people who really have the potential to be successful in your online internet business opportunity.

But if you use attraction marketing, you are attracting people who are:

  1. Already interested in what you are doing;
  2. Have already committed in some ways to your cause;
  3. Are informed and savvy about your company and the roles they will play.

3 Simple Rules for Keeping Your MLM Blog Fresh

Need to keep your MLM blog fresh? Follow my 3 simple rules:

1.    Only Write About What Interests You

Otherwise, blogging will be a miserable affair for you. If you are passionate about your company and what you do, then your enthusiasm will be communicated to your audience. Writing about what interests you will help get the words flowing and the enthusiasm showing.

There’s no specific set of guidelines you need to follow about how to choose your subject, although I would say you might want to avoid politics, religion, or any other touchy subject that could potentially offend your recruits. Stick with professional subjects that relate to network marketing information, and save the controversial stuff for your personal blog.

2.    Update When You Have Something to Say

All too often, bloggers fall into the trap of updating constantly. Or they go to the opposite extreme and never update at all. If you want to develop an audience, you need to offer updates on at least a weekly basis to keep them intrigued. Some bloggers aim for three times a week, others even want to offer fresh content daily.

It doesn’t matter how often you update, just make sure that you have something to say when you do it. Use the power of network marketing advertising to keep your readers coming back for more. In other words, don’t post a lot of garbage to keep your update schedule on track–it will definitely turn off your readers.

3.    Offer Something of Value to Your Readers

Finally, when you do post a blog, make sure you offer something of value to your readers. Give them a reason to read your blog in the first place. You could try using your blog as a way to achieve effective internet MLM advertising, but don’t just post ad after ad.

Try keeping your readers interested by offering information: tips, tricks, strategies, or a simple analysis of whatever subject you’re writing about. A filler blog post once in a blue moon is fine, but by and large you want your readers coming back because you have a lot of helpful stuff to say.

Let me be honest with you, a network marketing internet business is not for everyone. So many people start a home based business for the wrong reasons: they feel they can skate by doing less work, or they’re bored, or they want to make a lot of short-term income fast and then pull back out of the industry.

In reality, a work at home business idea takes as much – or more – dedication than any nine to five job you will ever have. It’s really the kind of endeavor that someone with a true entrepreneurial spirit should attempt. Do you have what it takes to start a home business opportunity online? Check out these key entrepreneurial qualities and see how you measure up:

1.    You Must Have Determination
When you start this endeavor, you are going to meet up with a lot of naysayers. They’re going to try to scare you or kid you out of following your dreams. If you don’t have determination, it’s too easy to fold and give up after one person tells you a small business cannot be successful in this economic climate. With the right kind of determination and drive, you can take these naysayers in stride and look upon their every negative word as a challenge to be overcome.

2.    You Must Be Organized
If organization doesn’t come easily to you, it’s time to brush up on this crucial entrepreneurial skill. The best home business owners are successful because they remain organized and precise, even under pressure or a heavy workload.

As an entrepreneur, you will be wearing a lot of different hats while working for your company. Staying organized will keep you from missing key deadlines, for example. There are books and continuing education courses on time management skills; I highly recommend you check them out even if you feel you are a reasonably well-organized person.

3.    You Must Have A Clear Vision
Finally, you must come into your new business with a clear vision for why you are doing what you do. You must be able to set short, medium, and long term goals that will help you achieve your vision for your company. Without some kind of overriding principles, your business efforts will be scattershot and you won’t be able to manage effectively. All of these things can cause a business to fail within the first year.
But if you can articulate a clear vision for your company, everything else will fall into place.

When I first started my MLM marketing system, I had the help of a good friend who showed me how to build my business slowly and steadily. I achieved some growth with the techniques he showed me, but then my business hit a plateau. When I figured out how to use the internet to market my company, it grew almost overnight. Now I am here to show you how you can pick the right MLM system to grow your company, too.

1.    Choose One that Uses New Methods

Before starting any home business network marketing system, make sure you have chosen one that uses new, fresh methods to promote your company. You should steer clear of any system that relies heavily on old-school methods such as recruiting from friends and family. My focus now is on using the internet to promote your business through social media, video marketing, and blogging. Find a system that focuses on these methods, and you will be on the cutting edge of a new marketing trend.

2.    Choose One that Offers Training and Support

The best online MLM business systems offer comprehensive training and support. For example, if you join my team then I will become your mentor, helping you every step of the way.  If you have questions or need feedback, which is really common when you start a new endeavor, you want to be able to ask for help.

As a team member, you will have access to everyone on my team as well as direct access to me; among all of us, we will help you find the answers you need. Never settle for a marketing program that forces you to sink or swim on your own.

3.    Choose One that has a Proven Track Record

When you start your new business, you will probably be bombarded with different kinds of network marketing information. It will be very difficult to pick what’s accurate and what’s a lot of baloney from all the different kinds of advice you will be hearing.

So let me be honest with you – it’s hard to find a marketing system with a proven track record, but you must do it. I can only tell you what my system accomplished for my business. When I started out, I used all the usual methods and I achieved some measure of success. But when I learned how to use the power of the internet, my business suddenly grew exponentially.

My system has a proven track record as far as I am concerned, but don’t take my word for it. Do your homework and find a system that helps you achieve your goals.

If you are new to the work at home business industry, you’ll probably get a lot of outdated advice on how to generate an MLM business lead. My advice is, don’t listen to these old school methods. Instead, blaze a new trail for your business by using new school methods to generate leads. There are three main reasons you should completely avoid old school methods:

1.    They’re Too Localized

One of the worst failings of the old school method of network marketing recruiting is that it limits you to one geographic area. If you only contact the people you know or try to generate recruits in your area, you are missing out on 99% of the world.

We operate in a global marketplace now; the internet has fundamentally changed the way we do business. Back in the days before the internet came along, sticking with one geographic area made sense. But now that you can access the world with one click of the mouse, it simply doesn’t make sense to limit yourself to your hometown.

2.    They Limit You to Familiarity

Back in the dark ages of network marketing lead generation, you were trained to get your family and friends involved. Trading on bonds of familiarity and trust, you were supposed to grow your company by hiring those you love to work for you. Let me ask you, how well does that work? Is mixing friends and business, or family bonds and business, ever a good idea?

The answer is no. If you limit yourself to friends and relatives, then you are missing out on the potential of recruiting qualified folks who have a real passion for what you do. Plus, you run the risk of souring your personal relationships; there’s no guarantee that your loved ones will be good at what you do.

3.    They Don’t Manipulate the Power of the Internet

Finally, you should spend your first year in network marketing exploring the power of the internet. These old school methods were developed before anyone anticipated that something like the internet would even exist. So now that you have a global marketplace at your fingertips, why not use the methods that work best with it and harness its power?

You can take your business well past your initial goals once you start using new school methods that really work with the advantages the internet has to offer. Wouldn’t you rather experience exponential growth your first year, rather than barely skating by? I thought so!

MLM advertising is undergoing a huge transition right now, and you are on the ground floor, witnessing this change. As old school methods that were developed in the 1960s give way to new school methods that utilize the internet, you have a chance to grow your company like your grandfather never thought possible. There are three reasons to give these new methods a chance:

1.    New School Methods are Inexpensive

If you rely on new school methods of network marketing advertising, you will make the best use of your advertising budget. Social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace allow you to reach a global audience immediately – for free. Video marketing through host sites like YouTube is nearly free, as long as you have a way to make the videos inexpensively. Most people already own a webcam or digital video camera, making video marketing a fraction of the cost you would spend to create a commercial in the old days.

Writing an MLM blog is inexpensive, too – really all it takes is your time. There are several blog hosting sites that allow free access, or you can add blogging capabilities to your website for almost nothing.

2.    New School Methods are Effective

Back in the old days, if you wanted to develop a distinctive voice for your company or wanted to reach a global audience, you would spend millions of dollars on a marketing campaign. But thanks to these inexpensive new school methods, you can develop a distinctive voice and tap into an international following with just the click of a mouse.

Because most of these social media sites are more casual in tone than traditional advertising methods, you can actually speak in your own voice to your friends and fans. This helps you to cultivate bonds of trust and loyalty and interact on a personal level with your clients. This will help you steadily grow a lasting customer base for your company.

3.    New School Methods Manipulate the Power of the Internet

This may sound pretty obvious, but a network marketing system that relies on new school methods of promotion really manipulates the power of the internet. This means your marketing campaign will target a global audience and make good use of your advertising budget and will accomplish both effectively. Old school methods were developed for entrepreneurs to achieve steady growth before the internet ever came along.

But now that you can access an audience so easily, cheaply, and efficiently, why not make the best use of it you can? You can grow your company exponentially using these methods. I highly recommend you adapt at least one of them into your marketing campaign if you’re skeptical – otherwise, craft your entire marketing campaign around them.

If you are like most Americans right now, you’re probably struggling financially and a little extra income would be welcome. But wait – before working overtime at your day job, give an online internet business opportunity a try. It’s a great way to earn income and offers a lot of great benefits as well!

1.    You Get to Try Something New

One of the coolest things about being able to start a home based business is it allows you to try something new. If you are curious about sales and want to see if you can have success with it, you can try it at practically no risk.

When you have the security of your day-job paycheck, you can afford to take a few risks and go outside of your comfort zone. It can actually be pretty fun and liberating to have a part-time job that you enjoy and find challenging.

2.    You Have a Flexible Schedule

When you go forward with a work at home business idea, it also allows you to be flexible with your schedule. If you make extra income by working early or late at your day job, you have not as much flexibility in your scheduling.

A work at home job allows you to make extra money on a part-time basis – and you will still get to see your family. You can work a few hours in the evening and call it a night. You can work before anyone else wakes up and still be there to have breakfast with everyone. It’s a great way to balance your need for more income with your family obligations.

3.    You Can Be Your Own Boss

Perhaps one of the biggest payoffs of having a home business opportunity online is that you get to be your own boss. No longer are you tied to a supervisor who is peeking over your shoulder at every minute. This gives you the opportunity to see how well you can self-manage, without the risk of diving into it full-time. If your business really begins to take off, you can then make the decision to be your own boss – permanently! What a great way to make the transition to your new career.

When I started my network marketing business, opportunity for growth was good but not unlimited. That’s because I was tied to the old-school methods of marketing my company. These methods are great for getting a business up and running, but I soon reached the limit of what I could accomplish.

Because of this, I began seeking ways to create a completely new network marketing system, and finally developed one using all the new and exciting media the internet has to offer. I urge you to find ways to incorporate these new-school methods into your internet MLM marketing; they will help you grow your business exponentially.

Video Marketing with YouTube

Let’s start with video marketing. In the old days, if you wanted to use video to market your company, you actually had to hire a production team and make a commercial. Then you had to buy air time to broadcast your commercial. It was outrageously expensive and unless you could afford to do everything professionally, the results could be downright laughable.

Thanks to webcams, digital video, computer editing software, and YouTube, you can now create, film, edit, and broadcast your video marketing efforts for a fraction of what one commercial used to cost. If you have a product that needs to be demonstrated, or if you want to make a big visual impact with your MLM marketing system, you should check out the new school ways to accomplish video marketing. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the results!

Try Blogging to Develop a Voice

Now that you’ve dealt with the visual aspects of your business, let’s talk about your voice. How can you develop a voice for your company, one that really communicates with your audience? Back in the old days, you had to hire a spokesperson or else spend thousands of dollars to promote yourself through print and video media. Not anymore – thanks to blogging, you can quickly connect with your audience and all it takes is a few minutes per day.

The typical MLM blog can be hosted for free and updated as often as you feel like writing. You can use it to update your readers on current events and product development.

The best quality of a blog is its ability to allow you to speak in your own voice, building bonds of loyalty and trust with your audience. I highly recommend you start a blog as soon as you start your business – it’s one of the most powerful tools you can use and it’s free!
