If you are new to network marketing recruiting, you probably feel a little out of control and nervous. You’re worried about how to generate those leads and make a steady income. I’ve been there myself, and I can tell you it can be easy if you follow my simple rules for success.

Do Not Rely on Friends and Family

As you begin your business, you will be told that you should look among your friends and family for network marketing lead generation. Your mentor will likely tell you that you can generate thousands of leads just based on working with your loved ones. But I am here to tell you that it simply won’t work. There are several reasons why you should never recruit from friends and family members:

  • Choosing among your loved ones limits you unnecessarily. You limit yourself to a close circle of friends and family members who may or may not have the means and the knowledge to become effective salespeople. This even limits you geographically to wherever your loved ones reside.
  • Network marketing prospecting among your loved ones can make for uncomfortable social situations. If they are uninterested, it could make for awkwardness because they feel bad for turning you down. If you don’t ask one family member but do try to recruit another, it could make for hurt feelings. Overall, mixing business with family relationships is a bad idea, and you should steer clear of it at all costs.
  • If you recruit in this manner, then you potentially miss out on or ignore other sources of lead generation that could yield very lucrative results. In other words, if you focus on one narrow source of leads, you miss other sources that could bring in lots of savvy network marketers who could make a lot of money.

Instead, Rely on Principles of Attraction Marketing

I always stress that instead of choosing among friends and family members, you should generate MLM business leads through the principles of attraction marketing.
