•    This method forces you to mix business with family or friendships, and that can be a recipe for disaster. Rather than frittering your time on recruiting friends and family members, you should direct your thoughts “up.” When I was a kid, my father used to tell me that I should pick a “rabbit” to follow in school. This means you focus on someone who is a high achiever and pattern your behavior on his.
